Key Responsibilities
As a Freight Forwarding Executive, you will be responsible for managing ocean import and export bookings with carriers and co-loaders, ensuring the efficient and timely movement of cargo. You will coordinate closely with clients, vendors, and customs brokers to facilitate seamless logistics operations. A critical part of your role will involve preparing and reviewing essential shipping documents, including Bills of Lading, packing lists, and invoices. You’ll track and monitor shipments from origin to destination, proactively addressing any delays or issues that arise. Additionally, you will negotiate competitive freight rates with shipping lines and vendors while maintaining accurate shipment records and updating internal systems. Collaboration with the sales and customer service teams is vital to meeting client expectations, and you must ensure all activities comply with international trade regulations and internal company policies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, along with at least two years of experience in freight forwarding—preferably within an NVOCC environment. A solid understanding of ocean freight processes, Incoterms, and shipping documentation is essential. You should be proficient in logistics software and the Microsoft Office Suite, with strong communication and negotiation skills. The role demands the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced setting, combined with keen attention to detail and effective problem-solving capabilities.
